Indy horror film actress Whitney Causey Benson, star of Harvest of Horrors tells Gruemonkey what it means to her be a Woman of Horror:

To be a woman in the horror industry has been a huge goal of mine since I was 10 years old, when I watched Nightmare on Elm St. From that moment I was completely enamored with anything & everything horror related. Over the years I would write scripts, create storyboards, & direct my own short stories. About 5 years ago I decided to direct/produce my first feature length film, which is in post-production. From there I began modeling exclusively for a horror/gore female dominated group called GOREgeous. Since then I’ve had roles in a few other movies such as “Rednecks” which was just recently purchased by Troma. I just wrapped on a short film that will be a compilation of stories titled “Harvest of Horrors” produced by Brad Twigg & I’ve been cast in another film of his called “Shriekshow” which begins filming soon, and I’ve also been cast in Flowers 2 which is produced by Phil Stephens.

Two years ago I received an invitation to be a co-host on a horror based podcast for Hollow9ine Network. From the moment I joined I absolutely loved it! The network has grown tremendously over the past year and I’m so proud of the growth.
