Women of Horror: Deborah Jayne Reilly Smith (Creature from Cannibal Creek, The Hider)!!

Hello Grue-Lings,

Today we have a special guest for our Women of Horror. It’s Deborah Jayne Reilly Smith.

.

Deborah Jayne Reilly Smith is a filmmaker and actress best known for her award-winning psychological horror short, The Hider, and best known for her role of Harriet in the indie creature feature, Creature from Cannibal Creek from Survival Zombie Films.

Deborah and her production team at Two Good Sons Productions have made several horror shorts including BINGE, Picky Eater, Sonance, Krismas Karma, and Merry Christmas No One’s Darling.

.

“I enjoy the process of packing a story into short horror films. It’s a great way to tell stories about what might lurk below the surface in situations that would appear to be normal on the surface.

My favourite character to play has been Harriet in the John Migliore creature feature, Creature from Cannibal Creek. Harriet is a totally off-the-wall character who is brash and cooky. It’s been fun to watch audiences react to her weirdness.

The same character will be reappearing in the upcoming John Migliore film, Curse of the Bloody Voodoo Sockpuppet 30th Anniversary Edition.

I am straddling the line between film-making and acting in my upcoming dark comedy web series, The Exploits and Misadventures of Old M’Elle which is set to launch on-line in mid November 2019.”
