Bradley Constant talks Young Rock with Gruemonkey!!
In a Gruemonkey exclusive. We talk to Bradley Constant about playing a young Dwayne The Rock Johnson in the hit tv series Young Rock.
Bradley Constant recently broke into the spotlight, starring as teenaged Dwayne Johnson during his high school years in NBC’s hit comedy series “Young Rock,” which focuses on different chapters of Dwayne’s life. From growing up in a strong and resilient family, to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family, to playing football at the University of Miami, the show explores the crazy rollercoaster that has shaped Dwayne into the man he is today and the larger-than-life characters he’s met along the way. The third season of “Young Rock” airs on NBC, and previous seasons can be streamed on Peacock.
Bradley was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he began taking classes and pursuing acting at the age of 12. From a very early age, he was determined to reach success in the entertainment business so he convinced his mom to move him to New York City where he would study and begin to gain experience in the industry. The tough environment and fast-paced productivity of the big city prepared him for an even bigger move to Los Angeles. He has fond memories of his early days in L.A. where he bagged groceries at Whole Foods to make ends meet and saw a lot of famous people, all while keeping his own dreams of becoming a successful actor alive!
When Bradley isn’t acting, he is an avid runner and has tallied up a total of 6 marathons to date. He believes that the challenge teaches him patience, determination and courage which have helped him push forward in his career and life. In fact, he ran a marathon the day before his screen test for “Young Rock,” which got him in the zone! While filming the first two seasons of “Young Rock” in Australia, he picked up surfing lessons and purchased a board upon his return home to Santa Monica, where he says he surfs “the easy waves”! In his spare time, he enjoys gaming, bass fishing and golfing. He is a die-hard sports fan and follows Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson as well as such teams as the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Heat, New York Yankees and, of course, the University of Alabama. Bradley is also a self-professed “Star Wars” nerd and is a huge fan of the stories, characters and lore in the TV shows and movies.
Bradley is the youngest of three brothers, and their bond is like no other. Though his mom has been incredibly supportive and with him the whole way, the strain of being away from his brothers while in pursuit of his dreams has been tough. But even from afar they provide him with the support and love that he has relied on to keep striving for success. Humbled and strengthened by years of experience behind him, Bradley is always ready to pour both passion and commitment into his next role, and he is always looking for ways to give back to others. Constantly looking to the future, Bradley is determined to continue to raise the bar, not only in his career, but in all of his passions.

Here is the Gruemonkey exclusive interview with Young Rock’s Bradley Constant:
.
Gruemonkey: Hello Bradley, and welcome to Gruemonkey. Thank you so much for being a guest on Grue today. What was you’re first experience like on set with Dwayne The Rock Johnson?
Bradley: My first time on set with Dwayne was awesome, just as you’d expect. It was my off day, but I saw on the schedule he was shooting a scene with Randall Park so I just showed up to hang out and watch him. It was fun to watch him work, he’s really a pro and I loved the way he treated everyone around him. I was taking notes. In between takes he got wind that I was hanging around and came over to say hello. First thing I noticed was how broad DJ’s shoulders are, he’s huge! Black Adam in real life. I hugged him about ten times. I’d been wanting to meet him for a while so when the moment came, you bet I was excited {Laughs}. We stepped to the side and had a chat for a while before it was time to get back to work. It was our first time seeing each other in person but it felt like I already knew him. He’s genuine like that.

Gruemonkey: Have you gotten use to fans, family or friends calling you The Rock?
Bradley: It’s always fun when I get recognized for playing Dwayne. I was on a hike once in Hawaii, in the middle of nature with no one around me and suddenly I hear “Yo Tomas! Where’s Karen?” from the bushes. I died laughing. The family that recognized me were really sweet and it’s always nice to hear what people think in person. It happens a lot and I’ve started to get used to it a bit. Thankfully it’s only been positive so far. I’m always grateful regardless.

Gruemonkey: If The Rock wrestles Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania, who wins?
Bradley: If The Rock wrestles Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania, The Rock wins. And he wins because every time The Rock is in the ring, the people have a great time watching him. Easy answer here.

Gruemonkey: I’m a huge horror fan. I always ask my guests this. Do you like horror films and if so, what are some of your favorite ones?
Bradley: I have a funny relationship with scary movies. I’m scared of them so I typically avoid them. But I love them secretly. Something about them makes it hard for me to take my eyes off the screen. I’d say my favorite scary character is Michael Myers and my favorite Scary movie is Halloween (1978). Zombies are cool too, special video game mention to Zombies in the call of duty franchise.

.
Gruemonkey: I saw a recent photo of you and Adrian at the gym. Do you look after him like a big bro?
Bradley: Adrian asked me to take him to the gym the other day and at first I was nervous. If I let him get hurt I’m losing my job for sure! {Laughs} But we went and had the best time, he crushed it. We’ve spent a lot of time together on and off set the last couple of years just hanging out in Australia and now Memphis. Honestly, I’ve always wanted a younger brother and Adrian has naturally become that to me. We have an amazing job, but it requires a heavy amount of love and support to get the job done. I’m grateful to have built a great relationship with Adrian, I’m so proud of him.

Gruemonkey: Thank you Bradley for being a guest on Gruemonkey today. I love Young Rock.
Bradley: Thank you for having me on.
