HELLTER: Hello Dee and Thank you so much for joining us again today on Gruemonkey for another interview. We appreciate it. We won’t ask the same questions about how you started, Cujo, ET, etc. If any fans want to know that, please check out our first interview with Dee Wallace on Gruemonkey under interviews or our search engine, just type in Dee Wallace. You worked with Rob Zombie in Lords of Salem. I movie I love. I think it’s very under rated. How was it like working with Rob on that movie and what made you want to work with him again for his new horror film 3 From Hell?

DEE:  Where do I begin? I love everything about Rob. I love him as a person. I love his creativity. I love how he encourages his actors to bring in their ideas and cocreates with us.

.

.

.

HELLTER: Yeah, Rob seems awesome to work for. How did you get involved in 3 From Hell?

DEE:  Rob called. He gave me a challenge with this part, and I got to work with Sherri ( a huge Bright Light on this planet.) It was a no-brainer.

.

.

.

.

HELLTER: Sherri Moon Zombie is amazing. I like her too. Can you tell us who your character is and what the film 3 From Hell is about?

DEE: Weeeeeeeeeeeeel, I can tell you a little, (Laughs). You know it’s a continuation of Devil’s Rejects. It’s hard, gruesome, and classic Rob Zombie. You’re going to have to do a double take to recognize me! And man…she is OUT there! The fans are going to go crazy!

.

.

.

HELLTER: I can’t wait to watch it and your role in the movie. How was it to work again with Sherri Moon Zombie? For fans who don’t know, you worked with her on Lords of Salem.

DEE: I did, but not in close, intimate, out there scenes like we have in 3 From Hell. As I stated above, she is a light, and fun, and just a beautiful person.

.

.

.

.

HELLTER:  I am very happy to see that Critters is making a comeback. What are your thoughts on the return of Critters and SyFy Network picking it up?

DEE: I didn’t hesitate. It is a reboot, not a remake. I made sure they were using puppets and NOT CGI which I think the fans would have been unhappy with. You just can’t screw around with the horror classics of the 70s/80s!!

.

.

.

HELLTER: I love that saying you just said. You are so right, You can’t screw around with the horror classics of the 70’s and 80’s. Once again, can you tell us about your character and what the series is about for fans who haven’t seen the Critters movie?

DEE: I play the same character, but they call me Aunt Dee ( don’t ask. I think it was a legal thing.) All my family has been killed, and sweet me has turned into a badass. Yippee!

.

.

.

.

HELLTER: Ok, I won’t ask (laughs). If you are allowed to talk about this. What was your favorite scene or most memorable scene you did in 3 From Hell and Critters?

DEE: Yep. Can’t really give a lot away. My favorite scene in 3 From Hell is when Rob brought me back for a day and kind of sprung on me. What we came up with is sick, twisted, and awesome. I think I like my scene in Critters when I meet the Queen. That’s all I can say. You gotta watch it, people!!

.

.

.

HELLTER: Don’t worry Dee, I will be watching both. I’m excited for both 3 From Hell and Critters. Any cool or funny stories you can share with us that happened on set for both 3 From Hell and Critters?

DEE: I fell asleep the first day almost in the middle of a scene in Critters. Traveling to South Africa is tough! But soooo beautiful! And just working with Bobby Miller. Love him! And it’s always fun with Rob. You never know what to expect or where we’re going half the time and brilliant stuff just…happens. I LOVE to work that way!

.

.

.

.

HELLTER: That sounds amazing. I want to congratulate you on crossing your 200th film this year. That’s a huge accomplishment and proves that you are a force to be reckon with in movies. What are your thoughts on that?

DEE: (Laughs) I agree. When my publicist told me, I must say I basked in that glory for a day….and then started my next movie.

.

.

.

HELLTER: Your daughter has a book coming out on June 27th I believe? Your daughter is Gabrielle Stone and her new book is called “Eat, Pray, #FML”. What can you tell us about your daughter’s book and what made her decide to write it?

DEE:  It’s an incredible true story of her soul searching after a divorce ( we found out her husband had been having an affair for 6 months a year after the wedding). Then she got dumped AGAIN by a guy she had fallen madly in love with who invited her to travel to Europe for a month with him. Two days before they were to leave, he decided he “had to go alone.” So she decided to travel the month on her own. What she went through and the lessons she learned and the woman she has become is something EVERYONE is gonna identify with.

.

.

.

.

HELLTER: Wow, that’s powerful. What is your advise for any actors/actresses out there who are struggling to make it and make money off this to live on?

DEE: Well guys, be yourself. Everyone thinks they have to be someone else that THEY want. But they really want you to be authentically YOU. And you have to COMMIT to make things happen. Most actors are waiting for some “proof” before they commit. And $? Do what you have to do until you are making a living doing what you love!

.

.

.

HELLTER: Great advise. Anything else you want to discuss or promote?

DEE:  I’d love to invite everyone to check out my healing work at Iamdeewallace.com. If you really want to change your life, get started there. And get Gabrielle’s book!!
