Gruemonkey Interviews Ty Cotton (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina)!!

Today we welcome back to Gruemonkey. The amazing Ty Cotton. He stars in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Sadly this is the last season. Even though so many fans are sad and fighting this not to be over, it’s over. But fear not, we have Ty Cotton here.

Tyler is a young actor. He got his start by playing the role of a Ice Cream Vendor in the hit series The Magicians. From there, he went out to have a starring role in Season 2 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He plays the warlock Melvin. He had a recurring role as Melvin in Seasons 3 and 4 as well. Tyler Cotton is going to have such a bright future ahead of him. I can’t wait to see the projects he does next. Below is my interview with Tyler Cotton from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

GRUEMONKEY: Welcome back to Gruemonkey Ty. You’re a big Star Wars fan. What’s your favorite Star Wars film and character and your thoughts on The Mandalorian?

TY: I’m a huge Star Wars fan! My favourite Star Wars film has gotta be “A New Hope” it started it all! I’m a huge Luke Skywalker fan. Mark Hamill and I actually have the same birthday!

I absolutely love the Mandalorian! Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and the whole team working on the show have done such an amazing job! I actually stayed up until midnight to watch each episode just so nothing would be spoiled.

GRUEMONKEY: Have you played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order yet that Shameless star Cameron Monaghan stars in?

TY: I have! I beat the whole game in a weekend (Laughs).

GRUEMONKEY: Your thoughts on Disney Plus wanting to do Star Wars spin offs?

TY: I’m excited! Each project looks exciting and unique. The more Star Wars the better!

GRUEMONKEY: I saw a dream role for you is playing Robin. What has been your favorite Batman film?

TY: Yea Robin is definitely up there on the dream role list! I was a huge fan of the Nolan trilogy.

GRUEMONKEY: Is Vancouver the hot spot for actors in Canada?

TY: I hope so! But there are many places in Canada that are great. Toronto’s been booming as well.

GRUEMONKEY: You have had a great run as Melvin. How’s that been for you?

TY: It’s been amazing! I was only supposed to be in one episode so each time I got called back for another one it was a gift that I’m so grateful for.

GRUEMONKEY: Tell us about Melvin in season 4, on how he has evolved more from seasons 1, 2, and 3?

TY: We see Melvin dealing with the loss of Elspeth and Dorcus. I also think we get to see Melvin come out of his shell a bit more.

GRUEMONKEY: How fun is it to play a Warlock/Witch?

TY: So much fun! Any time they got Melvin to do any spells or anything I was stoked!

GRUEMONKEY: What Melvin scene did you like best from season 1 2 or 3? Mine was Melvin’s death and resurrection!

TY: The death and resurrection scene was very fun! I was also a big fan of the Lupercalia episode.

GRUEMONKEY: What’s been your favorite Melvin scene from Season 4?

TY: All of them (Laughs) I especially loved the scenes I got to do with the whole cast!

GRUEMONKEY: How was the Melvin/Sabrina date for you?

TY: So fun! I love working with Kiernan! When I found out that they got to go on a date I was pretty shocked and excited, I’d say they make a cute couple though. #Mabrina
