Celebrity Picks with Patrick D. Green (Escaping Freedom, The Brain That Wouldn’t Die)!!

Hello Grue-Lings,

Today for Celebrity Picks we have Actor, writer, and producer Patrick D. Green. He has a new LGBTQ film called Escaping Freedom and a horror film called The Brain That Wouldn’t Die.

He was a shy boy who found he could become other people by stepping onto a stage with the words of a playwright securely fastened in his head during his youth, Patrick determined this was to be his destiny. After graduating college with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor fields of study in Psychology and Theatre, he went to work for Children’s Protective Services, helping child victims of physical and sexual abuse. After relocating to the NW in 2012, he again focused on acting, with a specialty in film.  He has been in numerous films and series. CLICK HERE for his IMDB Page. Patrick told us what his favorite horror films are for Celebrity Picks, Enjoy:

Sixty Years On, And Psycho Remains The Most Influential Slasher Film Of All Time - UNILAD

PSYCHO:

Why? A classic, slow build with a pitch perfect creepy Anthony Perkins and the Hitchcock style of really twisting the knife into the audience’s back.

Heather Langenkamp also says she would do one more Nightmare on Elm Street | Consequence of Sound

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET:

One of the first horror films I saw and just so dark, but with one of the most badass horror heroines in the character Nancy.

Are A24 Horror Movies Attracting a New Kind of Horror Fan?

UNDER THE SKIN:

I love non traditional horror and this sci-fi creeper does it so well with nuance and amazing sound design. Unsettling.

Mark Duplass "Struggling" With Creep 3 Development | Den of Geek

CREEP 2:

The first one was so great and I actually thought this was one of the few sequels out there to surpass the first. Duplass goes all in.

Midsommar' Film Review - Variety

MIDSOMMAR:

I feel like Ari Aster is quickly becoming a newer master of horror. His films are just so weighted with dread in a way you can physically feel. I loved Hereditary as well.

Why Elvira: Mistress of the Dark is Footloose With Boobs

ELVRIA MISTRISS OF THE DARK:

Guilty pleasure? No guilt here. I love Elvira and watch this movie every year right around Halloween. For me, a camp classic.

The Others (2001) Movie Review from Eye for Film

THE OTHERS:

I’m just a sucker for classic feeling, gothic, ghost stories. And Nicole Kidman is amazing.

Scream: The True Story That Inspired The 1996 Slasher | Regal Reel

PATRICK D. GREEN TOLD US: Hey! Thank so much for reaching out, much appreciated!

My LGBTQ film that’s currently available for streaming (Prime Video, Vimeo on Demand, iTunes, Google Play, Dekkoo, & YouTube) is Escaping Freedom (info and pics can be pulled from EscapingFreedom.net). My film The Brain That Wouldn’t Die (brainthatwouldntdie.com) is currently making the film festival rounds as well… it’s a fun horror/comedy remake of the cult classic film.

I do love horror films…

A few runners up. Mother!, The Ring, May, and eXistenZ.
