‘Kandisha,’ a French horror film, debuts on Shudder

“Kandisha,” a horror film inspired by Moroccan folklore and created by filmmakers Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, premieres tonight, July 22, on the Shudder streaming service.

In the movie, three best friends – Amélie, Bintou and Morjana – hang out daily with their fellow neighborhood teenagers. After Amélie is attacked by her ex, she summons “Kandisha.” What happens the next day? Her ex is dead. “Kandisha” is on a murdering spree and the three young ladies attempt to break the curse.
