Quentin Tarantino’s new film that got picked up by Sony has been rumored to be a Charles Manson film. But that’s not the case. There will be connections to the Manson Family in 1969 Los Angeles. But this film is supposed to be centered on the main victim in the murders, Sharon Tate.
No name for the film as of yet, just being called #9. Sony has announced that they’ll be releasing it on August 9, 2019. That date marks the fiftieth anniversary of the night Sharon Tate was murdered brutally.
Margot Robbie is the top choice for Sharon Tate. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio are all in the running for the male leads.
According to Vanity Fair’s the script might be:
focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and is looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick — who’s also his stunt double — is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.
